Igor Bray has been an Australian Research Council Professorial Fellow and Director of the Institute of Theoretical Physics at Curtin University of Technology since June 2007. For the previous six years, he was an ARC Professorial Fellow at Murdoch University, and during the previous fifteen years, he was at the Flinders University of South Australia. Prior to that, he graduated in 1986 from the Department of Mathematical Physics, University of Adelaide, with a Ph.D. degree entitled “Gravitational lens effect of galaxies and black holes.” He has been awarded the David Syme, Walter Boas, and Pawsey medals. Bray is a Fellow of the American Physical Society and The UK and Australian Institutes of Physics, and served on the Editorial Board of the IOP Journal of Physics B, during 2003–2008.
