Nicolás Ruiz Reyes is PhD in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Alcalá and Professor of Signal Theory and Communications at the University of Jaen. He has focussed most of his research on digital audio processing (encoding, classification, separation, transcription) and its applications. It has also extended its research to other fields, such as electrical, biomedical and ultrasonic signal processing for different applications. He has published around 40 articles in international journals (mostly included in ISI) and more than 100 papers in prestigious international conferences. He has led several research projects with public funding as well as contracts with private companies, most of them related to applications of signal processing. Dr. Nicolas Ruiz has also led 5 PhD dissertations and is reviewer of several international journals related to the fields of signal processing and artificial intelligence (IEEE Trans. on Audio, Speech and Language Processing, Signal Processing, Digital Signal Processing, Advanced Signal Processing, Electronic Letters, Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence, Applied Artifical Intelligence, Applied Soft Computing, etc.).
