John Chilton received his DPhil in developmental neurobiology from Oxford University in 2001. He moved to the MRC Centre for Developmental Neurobiology at King's College London where he worked as a post-doc first with Prof. Sarah Guthrie on cranial motor axon guidance and then with Prof. Phillip Gordon-Weeks on the growth cone cytoskeleton. In 2005 he moved to the Peninsula Medical School and is now senior lecturer in cell biology. His research group is interested in how guidance cues are linked to the neuronal cytoskeleton to control the navigation of axons and migrating neurons.
