Gilbert Fantozzi

Gilbert Fantozzi, Emeritus Professor Born in Cran-Gevrier (France) in 1942, G.Fantozzi graduated from the National Institute of Applied Science of Lyon in Materials Science and Engineering in 1963. He joined INSA of Lyon in 1963. He was the head of the Groupe d’Etudes de Métallurgie Physique et de Physique des Matériaux. He is working in the Ceramic Group of this lab ( now called MATEIS) which has a staff of 30 searchers and has extensive experience in the ceramics processing and the study of thermo-mechanical behaviour of ceramics. G.Fantozzi is a specialist in structural ceramics and relation between microstructure (processing) and properties. He is working on processing, shaping, green machining, sintering and thermo-mechanical behaviour of ceramics, cermets, refractories and composites. He has published more than 250 papers in international journals and given more than 40 invited lectures. He his Member of the Council of the European Ceramic Society on behalf of the French Ceramic Society.
