John Ayuk serves as a Consultant Endocrinologist and Clinical Service Lead for the Endocrine Unit at the University Hospital Birmingham, Birmingham, UK. He was trained in endocrinology in the West Midlands, UK, completing a research fellowship in endocrinology and being awarded an M.D. degree at the University of Birmingham, Birmingham, UK. His research interests include the pathogenesis, management, and outcome of pituitary tumours. He is the author of a number of papers which have influenced changes in the way pituitary disease is managed and, as a result, is regularly involved in writing consensus guidelines. Ayuk also holds the post of Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham. Additional positions include Chair of the Steering Committee of the UK Acromegaly Register and Steering Committee Member of the UK and Ireland Neuroendocrine Tumour Society.
