Prodromos Zanis

ProdromosZanis was born in Xanthi, Greece, in 1969. He is Assistant Professor at the Department of Meteorology and Climatology, School of Geology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), since 2007. He received a degree in Physics in 1992 (AUTH), a M.S. degree in atmospheric sciences in 1994 from the University of East Anglia, Norfolk, UK, and a Ph.D. degree in natural sciences in 1999 from the University of Bern, Berne, Switzerland. He has more than 15 years of experience on basic and applied research on atmospheric physics and chemistry with emphasis on tropospheric and stratospheric ozone, air pollution, regional climate change, air quality, and regional climate modeling. He has more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed scientific international journals and more than 600 third-party citations with an H factor of 15. He participated in a number of EU projects such as PAURII, STACCATO, CANDIDOZ, and CECILIA as well as in other Swiss and Greek national competitive research projects. He was a Member of the management committee of the COST Action 723 (Data Exploitation and Modeling for the Upper Troposphere and Lower Stratosphere, 2002-2006) and currently he is member of the board of the Environmental Physics Division of the European Physical Society and the Coordinator of the Outstanding Student Poster contest at EGU in Atmospheric Sciences Division.
