Emiliano Antiga graduated with first-class honours in medicine and surgery at the University of Florence, Florence, Italy, in 2003, got the specialization in dermatology and venereology in 2007, and a Ph.D. degree in endocrinological, biomolecular, and regenerative biotechnologies in 2012. Since 2012, he has been a Researcher at the Department of Surgery and Translational Medicine, Section of Dermatology, of the University of Florence, Italy. His fields of expertise include immune-mediated dermatitis, such as autoimmune bullous diseases, skin manifestations of connective tissue diseases, dermatitis herpetiformis, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and urticaria. He actively participated to the ideation and the realization of several research projects funded by both private and public institutions. He participated as a speaker to several international congresses. He is author of more than 50 scientific articles, published in extenso on international biomedical journals, 2 book chapters in national books, and several abstracts accepted by international congresses. He won the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) John Stratigos Memorial Scholarship 2010 and several grants to participate to international congresses. His abstract entitled “T regulatory Cells in Scleroderma” was awarded as one of the top ten abstracts at the EADV Congress in Berlin, Germany, 2009; his abstract entitled “Regulatory T cells and T helper 17 cells in the pathogenesis of bullous pemphigoid” was awarded as one of the top ten abstracts” at the EADV Congress in Lisbon, Portugal, 2011.
