Jean-Yves Chouinard

Jean-Yves Chouinard received the B.S.A., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from Laval University, Laval, QC, Canada, in 1979, 1984, and 1987, respectively, all in electrical engineering. From 1979 to 1981, he was with Northern Telecom, Montreal, QC, Canada. From 1987 to 1988, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the Space and Radio Communication Division, Centre National d'études des Télécommunications (CNET), Paris, France. From 1988 to 2002, he was with the School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE), University of Ottawa, Ottawa, ON, Canada. From 1996 to 1997, he was an Invited Professor at the École Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (ENST), Paris. Since 2003, he has been with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Laval University. His research interests include communication theory and applications, wideband mobile and indoor wireless systems, digital channel modeling, error control coding, and digital modulation techniques for advanced television systems. Dr. Chouinard is a Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) and the Canadian Society for Electrical and Computer Engineering (CSECE). He is an Associate Editor for the IEEE Tranactions on Broadcasting. He is also a Director of the Canadian Society of Information Theory (CSIT).
