Francesco Piarulli was born in Palazzo San Gervasio, Italy, in 1957, and he lives in Padova, Italy. He received the Medical School degree from University of Padova, on the 20th of July 1983. He was a Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology Fellow at University of Padova, in 1987; Angiology Fellow at University of Catania, in 1990; Cardiology Fellow at University of Padova, in 1994. Dr. Piarulli worked as an Internal Medicine Institute (Director Professor G. Crepaldi) at the University Hospital in Padova from 07/21/1983 to 10/01/1989. From 10/02/1989 to 10/31/1999, he worked in Porto Viro at Madonna della Salute, ULSS 19 Adria (RO). Since 11/01/1999, he has been working in Padova at the Unit of Diabetology (Director Professor D. Fedele). He is mainly interested in the cardiovascular complications of diabetes and the imaging diagnosis (ecocolordoppler) of the vascular tree. He is also engaged in clinical research on vascular biology in diabetes and its complications.
