Xiongqi Peng
0000-0002-3850-8331Xiongqi Peng is a professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. Before joining the faculty, he was a professor at the Schooo of Mechanical Engineering at Norwestern Polytechnical University, China (2006-2010) He received his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Norwestern Polytechnical University, China (1992), MS degree from the National University of Singapore (1998) and his PhD degree from Northwestern University, USA (2003). After completing his PhD degree, he performed postdoctoral research at Northwestern University, USA (2003-2006). Prof. Peng’s major research interests are: computational methods in engineering and science, continuum mechanics, composites, biomechanics. Current research activities include constitutive modeling and micromechanics of composites, forming of composites, sheet metal forming, biomechanics and soft tissue. Prof. Peng has authored or co-authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications and three books. He is a Fellow of the Chinese Society for Composite Materials and a member of the American Society for Composites.
