Christopher Carlton

Christopher Carlton grew up in south Arkansas and received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Arkansas during 1980 and 1989, respectively. He worked as Curator of the University of Arkansas Insect Collection from 1983 to 1992. Since then, he has worked as insect systematist at the Louisiana State University Agricultural Center and Director of the Louisiana State Arthropod Museum. His research emphasis is on pselaphine staphylinid beetles, some groups of cucujoid beetles, and occasionally other families, mainly through collaborations with colleagues. He trains graduate students and teach insect systematics, general entomology, and various special problem courses. He started collecting beetles when he was six and still does.
