Thiago Pardo received the Computer Science degree (1999) and the M.S. degree (2002) from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) and the Ph.D. degree (2005) from the University of São Paulo (USP), in Brazil. Since 2006, he has been a Full-Time Professor and Researcher at the USP. He is mainly interested in natural language processing and computational linguistics: text summarization, discourse analysis, machine translation, text simplification, and text mining. He has organized and been member of the program committee of the main events in the area in Brazil and also in other countries. He is currently the President of the Brazilian Interest Group on Natural Language Processing and is Member of ACL and SBC Scientific Societies.
