Wen T. Fu

Wen Tian Fu, born on 28 June 1956 in Liaoning province (China), pursued his primary and secondary education from 1963 to 1974. In 1978, he went to Peking University, where he was awarded a BSc degree in Physical Chemistry (1982). He then became a PhD student, and started his research on luminescence of rare earths at Laboratoire de Chimie du Solide du CNRS (Université de Bordeaux, France). In 1986 he obtained his PhD on solid state chemistry with honours. After working a few years as postdoctor at Kamerlingh Onnes Laboratory (Leiden University, the Netherlands), INRS Centre-Energy (Québec University, Canada), and Gorlaeus Laboratories (Leiden University, the Netherlands), he became a permanent staff at Leiden Institute of Chemistry (Leiden University) since 1992. His main research interests are superconductivity, luminescence and crystal chemistry of inorganic materials.
