Yuansheng Jin

Yuansheng Jin graduated from the Metallurgical Engineering Department of Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, including postgraduate courses in 1965. Then, he was assigned to work at scientific research institutes affiliated to the Railway Ministry of China for 20 years being engaged in research work in Tribology. In 1985, he was transferred to Tsinghua University and was appointed to be in charge of establishing the State Key Laboratory of Tribology (SKLT) of China in Tsinghua University. He got his position as a Full Professor in 1990 and was the Leader of the Research Group of Friction, Wear, and Boundary Lubrication at the SKLT before 2003. His main research directions cover a wide spectrum of academic aspects of tribology, which involves lubrication and wear mechanism of metal and ceramic materials, coating tribology, engine tribology, boundary lubrication, tribochemistry, and condition monitoring by oil analysis. He has authored over 120 papers and published two special monographs in the field of tribology. He was selected as a Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, and a Foreign Member of the Belarus Academy of Engineering and Technology in 2001. Jin is a Member of the Editorial Board of the Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology and of the Editorial Eeview Board of the Industrial Lubrication and Tribology.
