Yuan-Jen Chang was born in Taiwan, in 1970. He received his B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from the National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan, in 1992 and his M.S. degree in power mechanical engineering from the National Tsing-Hua University in 1994. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from the National Taiwan University in 1999. He became a Member of IEEE in 2006. He was an engineer at the Optoelectronics and Systems Laboratories, Industrial Technology Research Institute of Taiwan, from 1999 to 2003. He joined the Central Taiwan University of Science and Technology (CTUST) as an Assistant Professor in 2003. At present, he teaches in the Department of Management Information Systems and in the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Material Science as an Associate Professor. At CTUST, he develops and teaches courses covering the applications of biophotonics, network programming, project management, and systems analysis and design. His research activities are focused on the development of telehealth and biomedical electronics. His current research interests include telecare service model and system, optical computed tomography, and 3D gel dosimeter.
