Dominic Leung is a Senior Staff Specialist and the Director of Echocardiography at the Liverpool Hospital, Sydney Southwest Area Health Service and Conjoint Professor of cardiology, Southwest Sydney Clinical School, Faculty of Medicine, University of New South Wales. He is also in part-time private practice. He was trained in Hong Kong, UK, Australia, and The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, USA. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh), the European Society of Cardiology, the American College of Cardiology, the Hong Kong College of Physicians, and The Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand. He has a Ph.D. degree from the University of New South Wales on mitral valve disease. His current research interests include valvular heart disease, heart failure, exercise physiology, exercise echo, diabetic heart disease, microvascular dysfunction, acute coronary syndrome, and interventional cardiology. He is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and supervises a number of B.S. (honors), M.S., and Ph.D. students. He has been invited to speak in numerous national and international meetings and has published more than 100 papers in peer- reviewed journals, book chapters, editorials, reviews, and invited articles in major international journals.
