Rui Coelho
Rui Coelho has a Ph.D. degree in fisheries biology (University of Algarve, Portugal, 2007), an M.S. degree in applied statistical analysis (University of évora, Portugal, 2012), and a 2-year Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Florida Museum of Natural History, University of Florida (2008 –2010). He has more than 10 years’ experience working with bycatch from commercial fisheries. His current research interests include working with advanced statistical modeling techniques to analyze zero inflated datasets with lack of independence between samples, which is the case of most bycatch data from pelagic long-line fisheries.
