Walter Carson

Walter Carson received his Ph.D. degree from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA, with Richard B. Root in 1993. He was a Postdoctoral Associate with Dave Tilman at the University of Minnesota and later with Steve Hubbell at Princeton University. He is currently on faculty at the University of Pittsburgh. He is a plant ecologist focusing primarily on the dynamics of tropical and temperate forests. He has also done extensive research on the ecology of early successional old-field communities as well as work on the ecology of invasive species.
