Rachid Salghi

Rachid Salghi is a Professor of chemistry at the National School of Applied Sciences, Ibn Zohr University of Science and Technology Engineering in Agadir, Morocco. He was born in 1968, and he graduated in chemistry at the University of First Mohamed in Oujda, Morocco, where he obtained his Ph.D. degree in chemical sciences in 1999. His principal fields of interest and activity are the behavior of pesticides in soil, plant, and water (residues: persistence, etc.) and the corrosion inhibition of copper, aluminum, and tin-plate in different media. His works have been cited 755 times with h-index of 15 (SCOPUS) and have been cited 1023 times with h-index of 18 based on Google Scholar citation report for 2013. He has been honored with the Best Researcher Award in Ibn Zohr University of Science and Technology Engineering since 2012. He has published over 154 scientific articles in international journals and presented about 165 communications in symposia and national/international congresses. He has developed 4 Moroccan patents, and he has been the Principal Investigator in 15 international projects and 6 national research projects. He has supervised 10 Doctoral theses, 20 M.S. theses, and 24 second cycles (B.S. degree equivalents). Salghi has been responsible for the Environmental Engineering and Biotechnology Laboratory Research Team and responsible for Master Food Engineering. He is a Member in the Mediterranean Group of Research on Pesticides (MGRP) and in the Tropical Fruits Working Group of the International Crop Grouping Consulting Committee. He was also the Head of process engineering at the National School of Applied Sciences, Ibn Zohr University of Science and Technology Engineering, Agadir, Morocco. He was honored and awarded by the International Scientific Journal for Alternative Energy and Ecology. He has participated as an Expert in the evaluation of proposals for the University of Sharjah, UAE, and he has been invited to present more than 50 lectures in symposia, courses, and other scientific events. Moreover, he is a Consultant in quality management systems, and he was consulted for his expertise by ten packing houses exporting fresh fruits and vegetables.
