Roberto Bigazzi

Roberto Bigazzi was born on 21 May, 1953 and he holds an M.D. degree from the School of Medicine, University of Pisa from 1971 to 1977. He completed a fellowship in internal medicine from 1977 to 1978 from Istituto di patologia Medica, University of Pisa. From 1978 to 1979, he finished a Fellowship, Divisione di Nefrologia, Hospital Pisa, from 1980 to 1982, a Fellowship in nephrology from the University of Florence, and from 1989 to 1991, a Fellowship in nephrology from the University Souther California, Los Angeles, Calif, USA. From 1980-1981, he served as an Assistant at Divisione di Nefrologia di Modena and from 1982 to 1989, as an Assistant at Divisione di, Nefrologia di Livorno. From 1998 to 2001, he was a Chief of Sezione di Diagnostica Nefrologica ed Urologica della Divisione di Nefrologia Livorno. Since 2001, he served as a Chief of the Department of Nephrology, Spedali Riuniti di Livorno, Livorno, Italy and since 2008, as a Chief of the Department of Clinical Medicine , Spedali Riuniti di Livorno, Livorno, Italy. His fields of interest are nephrology and hypertension; arterial hypertension and progression of renal function; epidemiology of hypertension diabetes and CKD; diabetic nephropaty; risk factors and progression of CKD; AKI; terapeutical strategies for prevention progression of CKD.
