Koji Okudela received his Ph.D. degree from Yokohama City University, Japan, in 2000. He worked as an Assistant Professor at Yokohama City University School of Medicine (2000–2003), as a Research Associate at the National Cancer Center Research Institute (Tokyo, Japan, 2003–2005), as an Assistant Professor at Hamamatsu University School of Medicine (2005-2006), and again as an Assistant Professor at Yokohama City University School of Medicine (since 2006). He has consistently investigated molecular basis of carcinogenesis of lung. His recent publications describe oncogenic KRAS-mediated pathway and aim at playing diverse roles in the development of lung cancer. In certain instance, oncogenic KRAS severely suppresses growth of lung epithelia. His main interest is to elucidate all the details of oncogenic KRAS-mediated carcinogenesis of the lung for providing physicians with useful data to improve therapeutic performance of lung cancer patients.
