Kim Tiow Ooi

Kim Tiow Ooi works as an Associate Professor in Thermal and Fluids Engineering Division, School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He moved to Singapore in 1990 after obtaining his Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from University of Strathclyde, Scotland, UK. He has since been bestowed twice Teacher of the Year Award and once The Nanyang Award for Excellence in Teaching. He publishes widely in his research field and has been invited to be editorial board member, guest editor, and reviewer of international journals. Ooi also serves as an International Committee Member and Vice Chairman of Academic Committee of some international conferences (International Conference on Compressors and Their Systems, City University; International Conference on Compressor and Refrigeration, Xi'an, China; International Conference on Compressors and Coolants, Slovakia). Ooi is a holder of 8 patents and a coauthor of a book and chapters of encyclopedias. He is widely consulted by engineering companies both locally and internationally (in Singapore, Korea, and India). He serves as a Member of the American Society of Heating, Air-Conditioning and Refrigerating Engineers.
