Charles Kornreich an M.D.and a Ph.D. holder,works as a psychiatrist with training in cognitive-behavioral therapy. He currently,serves as a Head of the Psychological Medicine department of the University Hospital Brugmann in Brussels, Belgium. He works as an Associate Professor at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Ixelles, Belgium, teaching in medicine, psychology and physiotherapy faculties.His main research topics are in the addiction field, namely in the perception of emotions by alcoholics or poly-drug addicts. He is also interested in evolutionary psychology and has developed several research programs according to this interest. Such programs are devoted to the exploration of conditional reasoning in several psychopathological conditions (collaborating with Elsa Ermer), as well as on the influence of these conditions on choices made in moral dilemmas situations. He is also collaborating with Xavier Noël on choice processes in addictions and with Salvatore Campanella on electrophysiological signatures of choices difficulties in addictions.
