Hideo Koguchi

Hideo Koguchi obtained his B.S. degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Saitama University (1975), his M.S. degree (1977) and Ph.D. degree (1981) from Department of Mechanical Engineering, Tokyo University. In 1981, he worked as a Research Assistant at Tokyo Mercantile Marine University. At Nagaoka University of Technology, he served as a Research Assistant (1984), as an Associate Professor (1989), and as a Professor (1999). Research fields of interest are strength of materials and computational mechanics, the theoretical and analytical study on elasticity and plasticity, the stress analysis for anisotropic half-materials in a nanoscale, the reliability of electronic packaging under thermal cycling, and three-dimensional stress singularity at a vertex in three-dimensional joints.
