Mikio Zeniya graduated from Jikei University, Tokyo, Japan in 1975. Then, he gained his Ph.D. degree from the Research Center for Medical Sciences, Jikei University in 1983. In 1984, he worked as a Postdoctral GI Fellow at Yale University Liver Center while in 1986 as an Assistant Professor of internal medicine at Jikei University. Between 1994 and 1995, he served as a Chief of the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Jikei University Hoapital and as an Associate Professor of oncology at the DNA Institute, Jikei University School of Medicine, respectively. During the year 2006, he was the President of the Health-Care Center at Jikei University. In addition, Zeniya is a Board Member on the Japanese Society of Hepatology, the Japanese Society of Gastroenterlogy, the Japanese Society of Clinical Immunology, the Japanese Society of Clinical Molecular Medicine, and the Japanese Society of Mucosal Immunology. He is a board certified specialist in internal medicine, gastroenterology, hepatology.
