Joseph R. Shiber
Joseph R. Shiber holds an M.D. degree. He is an Associate Professor of emergency medicine and critical care at the University of Florida, Fla, USA. Previously, he was an Associate Professor and the Director of Emergency Critical Care at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and formerly he was the Emergency Medicine-Internal Medicine Residency Program Director at the East Carolina University. He completed combined training in emergency medicine and internal medicine at the University of Maryland where he served as the Chief Resident. He later completed fellowship training in critical care at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland. His areas of clinical and research interest include management of traumatic brain injury, reperfusion of acute cerebrovascular and cardiac ischemia, and diagnostic methods of identifying subarachnoid hemorrhage. He is a Reviewer for the Journal of Neurology and Epilepsia, and he is on the Editorial Board of Journal of Acute Disease.
