Tânia Silvia Fröde is a teacher of clinical immunology to the Undergradute Program of Pharmacy and Biochemestry at Federal University of Santa Catarina, a teacher of inflammation to Postgraduate Program (M.S. and Ph.D. degrees) of Pharmacy and Medical Science at Federal University of Santa Catarina, and a teacher of adverses reaction of drugs to Postgraduate Program (M.S. and Ph.D. degrees) of Pharmacy at Federal University of Santa Catarina. From 1997 to 2000, she became a Doctor in phylosophy in pharmacology science, Federal University of Santa Catarina, UFSC, Brasil, under the title “Mediators and mechanisms involved in the mouse model of pleurisy iduced by carrageenan.” Between 1994 and 1996, she gained an M.S. degree in pharmacology science, from the same university. During the period (1979–1983), Fröde graduated in Pharmacy and biochemestry from UFSC. Her area of research focused on (i) experimental models, she studies the inflammation process using animal models such as pleurisy induced by different phogistic agents and air pouch model induced by carrageenan in mice. She also studies the anti-inflammatory properties of plants and new drugs that have some potencial anti-inflammatory effects in the mouse model of inflammation (pleurisy and air pouch); (ii) human, other researchs are involving allergy prior latex allergy (hypersensibility I), diabetis disease, and rheumatoid arthrites. Fröde also works as a Referee of the following journals: Journal of Ethnopharmacology; Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology; Diabetic Medicine (0742-3071).
