Alfredo Peris

Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain

Alfredo Peris was born in Alacant, Spain, in 1966. He received a B.S. degree in mathematics in 1989 and a Ph.D. degree in mathematics in 1992, both from Universitat de Valencia, Valencia, Spain. Since 1989, he serves as a Member (presently, Professor) of the Department of Applied Mathematics at Universitat Politecnica de Valencia, Valencia, Spain, and Chair (Director) of the department since 2004. He received the Lucien Godeaux Prize in Mathematics from the Royal Society of Sciences of Liege (Belgium) in 1996. His main interest is the chaotic behavior of linear operators on infinite-dimensional spaces (hypercyclic operators and related notions) and its applications to the asymptotic analysis of linear PDEs and infinite systems of linear differential equations. He is also working on chaotic properties in general dynamical systems.
