Rodica Turcu

National Institute R&D for Isotopic and Molecular Technologies, Romania

Dr. Rodica Turcu is the head of the research group "Hybrid nanostructures based on polymers and magnetic nanoparticles" and director of several multi-annual national research projects and also the Romanian coordinator of international projects. The research interest is focused mainly on surface physics and chemistry of magnetic nanoparticles, multifunctional/multiresponsive nanostructured composites, especially based on magnetic nanoparticles and biocompatible/stimuli responsive polymers. These researches involve advanced materials characterization by XPS, TEM, AFM/STM, magnetic measurements (VSM, SQUID) and SANS. The most recent results refer to magnetoresponsive nanostructures for magnetic bioseparation (proteins) and nanomedicine.
