Pantelis-Daniel Arapoglou
Pantelis-Daniel Arapoglou was born in Athens, Greece, on October 1979. He received the Diploma in electrical and computer engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece, in 2003, and is currently working toward his Dr.-Eng. degree at the same institute. During the academic year 2004-2005, he was a Research Assistant at the School of Pedagogical and Technological Education (ASPETE). Since 2005, he operates as a Coordination Engineer for the Greek Ministry of Communications working with the HELLAS-SAT series of satellite networks. Mr. Arapoglou is a student member of the IEEE and a Member of the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE). In 2004, he received the Ericsson Award of Excellence in Telecommunications for his diploma thesis and in 2005 the URSI General Assembly Young Scientist Award. Since 2005, he is the delegate of Greece in the ITU-R Study Group 3 activities. His areas of research include physical and link layer issues of satellite systems and broadband wireless access networks, fade mitigation, diversity techniques, rain attenuation and, in general, radio propagation for earth-space links.
