Justin D. Brown

Dr. Justin Brown is an Assistant Research Scientist at the Southeastern Cooperative Wildlife Disease Study, College of Veterinary Medicine, The University of Georgia. Dr. Brown’s research interests include understanding the impacts of diseases on wildlife populations and the potential for wildlife species involvement in diseases of agricultural or public health importance. His current research is focused on the natural history of avian influenza viruses in wild birds and determining the risks for transmission across the wild bird-domestic poultry interface. Dr. Brown received his D.V.M. from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and earned his Ph.D. in Veterinary Pathology from the University of Georgia in 2007. He performed his postdoctoral research with Dr. David Stallknecht at the University of Georgia.
