Angela L. Stotts
Angela L. Stotts earned her Doctoral degree in clinical psychology in 1996 at the University of Houston, Houston, Tex, USA, under the tutelage of Dr. Carlo DiClemente. Currently, she is an Associate Professor and Director of Research in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, with a cross-appointment in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science. Dr. Stotts’ research primarily focuses on behavioral and pharmacological treatments for substance use disorders, particularly opioid and nicotine dependence. She has served as an investigator on multiple treatment-research studies funded by NIH and other federal agencies, and has specific expertise in motivational interviewing and acceptance and mindfulness interventions, as well as secondhand smoke interventions in medical settings.
