Pankaj Trivedi was born in Surat, India in 1963. He obtained his M.S degree in microbiology from Sardar Patel University India, in 1985. Besides, he received a Ph.D. in tumor biology from Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden in 1995. He was a research fellow at the Department of Experimental Medicine, La Sapienza University of Rome, till 2001. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of general pathology at the Department of Experimental Medicine, La Sapienza University of Rome. His main research interest is to study the role of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) in lymphomagenesis. Specifically, the work in Dr.Trivedi’s laboratory is focused on the regulation of the latent EBV gene expression and how these viral proteins influence tumor cell phenotype by altering cellular micro-RNAs.
