Jesus Garcia is an Associate Professor at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain, a Member of the Computer Science Department, and a Founding Member of the Applied Artificial Intelligence Research Group (GIAA). He received his B.S. degree in telecommunications engineering from Universidad Politecnica de Madrid, Spain, in 1996, and his Ph.D. degree from the same university in 2001. He has participated in several European projects related to sensor fusion (funded by EC and Eurocontrol) and participated and coordinated diverse national research projects. His main interests are computational intelligence, sensor and information fusion, surveillance systems, machine vision, air traffic management, and autonomous vehicles. He has coauthored more than 10 book chapters, 40 journal papers, and 100 conference papers. He actively serves as a peer reviewer, among others, for journals IEEE Transactions on AESS, IEEE Sensors, IEEE Systems, Information Fusion, Information Sciences, and so forth. He participates in the scientific committee of many international conferences, such as International Conference on Information Fusion, Sensor Data Fusion, IADIS, DCAI, HAIS, IWANN, and so forth.
