Stavros Avramidis works as a Professor at the Department of Wood Science, University of British Columbia, Canada, since 1987. He obtained both the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the State University of New York. He has been doing fundamental research work in the area of wood physics (wood-water relations, sorption phenomena, thermodynamics, momentum, heat and mass transfer, and acoustic and dielectric properties) and applied research in the areas of convective and dielectric heating and drying. He (co)authored more than 200 journal and conference proceedings papers.
