Paraná (UTFPR) in Curitiba, Brazil, a Master's
degree in electronic engineering from
Philips International Institute of Technological
Studies in Eindhoven, The Netherlands,
and a Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from Florida Atlantic
University. His research interests and publications have been
focused on image processing, analysis, annotation, search, and retrieval;
human and computer vision; video processing and analysis;
and secure multimedia communications. He is a Member of ACM,
IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, and the honor societies of Phi Kappa
Phi and Upsilon Pi Epsilon.
