Premasis Sukul is a first class carrier from High School to M.S. degree; he obtained his Ph.D. degree from The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, India. Dr. Sukul performed postdoctoral studies in Germany as DAAD Fellow and Alexander von Humboldt Fellow during 1990 and 1998, respectively. He served as an Executive in a private company for a brief period (1984–1985) before joining university service, as Lecturer, Reader, and Professor (1985–2005) in an agricultural university (Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Mohanpur, Nadia, India), and as a Senior Research Scientist (January 2005–July 2011) in Technical University of Dortmund, Dortmund, Germany. He published 63 research papers and annual reports of many projects. His area of expertise is fate and behaviour of pesticides and antibiotics (persistence, metabolism, adsorption-desorption, and photolytic behaviour) in plant, soil, and water systems. He is presently acting as a Section Editor (Agrochemical Section) for The Journal of Plant Protection Sciences (JPPS), published by Association for Advancement in Plant Protection (AAPP), Kalyani, India.
