Pasquale Longo was born in Giffoni sei Casali SA, Italy, in 1955 and received his degree in chemistry in 1979 from the University of Naples, Naples, Italy. He served as a Research Assistant at the Department of chemistry of the University of Salerno,Fisciano Salerno, Italy from 1984 to 1992. From november 1992 to october 2000 he served as an Associate Professor of inorganic chemistry. Since November 2000 he has been Full Professor of inorganic chemistry. He teaches general and inorganic chemistry and advanced inorganic chemistry. His research activity is on the field of homogeneous catalysis, organometallic chemistry and synthesis and carachterization of polymeric materials. This activity is documented by more than 100 scientific papers on international journals as well as by about ten industrial patents and several chapters of books. From May 1997 to november 2005 he was Chairman of the Degree in chemistry of University of Salerno. From november 2000 to october 2008 he was Deputy Dean of faculty of science of University of Salerno. From november 2008 to december 2010 he was Director of Department of chemistry of University of Salerno.
