Bo CHEN currently serves as a Professor at the School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Wuhan University of Technology (WUT), China. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in civil engineering from Wuhan University of Technology, in 1998 and 2001, respectively. He obtained the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, in 2007. Chen worked two years (2006‐2007, 2009‐2010) at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University as a Research Assistant and Research Associate. Chen has expertise in structural health monitoring and damage detection, structural vibration control, and wind engineering. He has published more than 120 journal and conference papers, including about 60 peer‐reviewed journal papers. He currently serves as the Editor of the leading Chinese journal, Journal of Vibration Engineering, and is a member of many important academic societies such as Chinese Society of Wind Engineering and Industrial Aerodynamics. Chen has served as Principal Investigator and Coinvestigator for more than 30 international, national, state, and university funded projects. Chen is also an Inventor or Coinventor of 3 patents and 3 pending patents. He has received several academic prizes and worked as a Reviewer for about 30 peer-reviewed journals. His related achievements have been applied to the health monitoring and vibration control of more than 10 major engineering projects, such as the large-scale spatial structures, high‐rise towers, supertall buildings, and large‐span bridges.
