Kazunori Nakase was born in Ise, Japan, in 1955. He received the M.D. and the Ph.D. degrees from the University of Mie, in 1981 and 1991, respectively. He worked as a Research Associate at the Westmead Hospital, Sidney, Australia, from 1996 to 1997, and as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Hematology and Oncology from 2001 to 2007. Since 2007, he has been serving as an Associate Professor and as the Director of Cancer Center, Mie University Hospital, Tsu, Japan. He is mainly interested in infectious complication in patients with cancer receiving chemotherapy.
