Masahito Shimojo serves as an Assistant Professor at Kansai Medical University, Osaka, Japan. He received his Ph.D. degree in biochemistry from Nagasaki University, Nagasaki, Japan. He then learned molecular biology at RIKEN Tsukuba Life Science Research Center, Japan. He moved to Department of Biochemistry, University of Kentucky College of Medicine, Lexingto, USA in 1996, where he focused on the transcriptional regulation of the cholinergic gene locus as a Postdoctoral Scholar under the supervision of Dr. Louis B. Hersh. He worked as a Research Associate and rose to be the Assistant Professor in 2002 at the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, University of Kentucky, Lexingto, USA. He joined as an Associate Professor the Department of Medical Chemistry, Kansai Medical University, Moriguchi, Japan in 2010.
