Alex is veterinary microbiologist with broad interests in the molecular epidemiology of microbial pathogens. His research analyses the geographic spread, host preferences and transmission routes of the pathogens. His main expertise is in population genetics of Cryptosporidium parasites. Alex is a Senior Lecturer in Microbiology and Public Health at the Institute of Veterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences, Massey University, New Zealand.
