Guillermo Gervasini

Guillermo Gervasini was born in Badajoz, Spain. He received his PharmD degree from the University of Seville in 1995 and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Extremadura in 1999. Between 2000 and 2002, Professor Gervasini was a Research Fellow at the Division of Clinical Pharmacology at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tenn, USA. After finishing his postdoctorate period, he rejoined the Deparment of Pharmacology at the University of Extremadura in Badajoz (Spain), where he currently works as a Professor of pharmacology. His main interests are pharmacogenetics and pharmacogenomics, and especially their involvement in oncologic diseases. In 2002, he received the Presidential Trainee Award of the American Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics. In 2005, he was corecipient of the First Research Award of the Junta of Extremadura (Spain). He has been a Member of the Drug Surveillance Center of Extremadura and presently belongs to the Editorial Committee of Medicina, Veterinaria y Zootecnia.
