Artur S. Gouveia-Neto

Prof. A. S. Gouveia-Neto received the Ph.D. degree from Imperial College, University of London in 1987. In 1993, he worked as a visiting scientist in the RLE-MIT. He holds an Associate Professor position in the Physics Department of the Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco in Recife, Brazil since 2003. His current research interests involve novel optical materials, nonlinear optics phenomena, and their application in photonic devices including, remote sensors, visible lasers, and display technology. Lately, he is involved in the application of laser light for the diagnostic of biofuel plant tissues under biotic, and abiotic stress. Professor Gouveia-Neto is the author or co-autor of over 120 publications in major specialized international journals and has more than 125 papers in refereed international conferences and over 1500 citations
