Yongheng Yang received his B.E. degree in electrical engineering and automation in 2009 from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an, China, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Aalborg University, Aalborg, Denmark, in 2014. During 2009–2011, he was enrolled in a master-doctoral program in the School of Electrical Engineering, Southeast University, Nanjing, China. During that period, he was working on modeling and control of single-phase grid-connected photovoltaic systems. From March to May 2013, he served as a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Texas A&M University, College Station, TX, USA. His research interests include grid detection, synchronization, and control of single-phase photovoltaic systems in different operation modes and harmonics in adjustable speed drives and grid-connected power converters. He is also working on the reliability of power electronics for the next generation photovoltaic inverters.
