Yongheng Yang received his B.E. degree in electrical engineering and automation in 2009 from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an, China. During 2009–2011, he was enrolled in a master-doctoral program in the School of Electrical Engineering at Southeast University, Nanjing, China. During that period, he was working on modeling and control of single-phase grid-connected photovoltaic systems. From March to May 2013, he served as a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University, College Station, Tex, USA. Since September 2011, Mr. Yang has been working towards a Ph.D. degree in the Department of Energy Technology at Aalborg University, Aalborg East, Denmark. His research interests include grid detection, synchronization, and control of single-phase photovoltaic systems in different operation modes. He is also working on the reliability of power electronics for the next generation photovoltaic inverters.
