Luca De Nardis

Luca De Nardis received both his Laurea degree in telecommunications engineering and his Ph.D. degree in information and communication theory from the University of Rome La Sapienza in 2001 and 2005, respectively. Since November 2004 he is a research affiliate at the INFO-COM Department of the University of Rome La Sapienza. In the period December 2005 till May 2006, he was a visiting scholar at the Berkeley Wireless Research Center, part of the EECS Department at the University of California at Berkeley. He was a visiting postdoctor in the same institution in the period June 2006 till April 2007. Since 2002, he has been participating in European IST projects focusing on all key aspects of Ultra Wide Band communication systems. He is actually involved in the PULSERS and LIAISON EU IP projects dealing with MAC, networking and positioning protocols for UWB networks. His research interests focus on UWB radio technology, ad hoc networks organization, Medium Access Control, and routing protocols for wireless networks as well as distributed synchronization and positioning in ad hoc and sensor networks. He is a member of the IEEE since 1998.
