He was appointed as an Assistant Professor at UPE in 2005 and Full Professor in 2010. His areas of expertise include computational mechanics, multiscale methods for the modeling of heterogeneous materials, nanomechanics, and mesh-free methods. His recent research works deal with computational homogenization methods for nonlinear and time-dependent behaviors, multiscale modeling of electromechanical nanostructures, modeling of complex interfaces, and image-based microstructures. He is the recipient of the 2014 ECCOMAS O.C. Zienkiewicz award and Fellow of the French University Institute (Institut Universitaire de France, IUF) and Junior member in 2013.
