Andrea F. Carril

Andrea F. Carril was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1968. She received the atmospheric science degree and the Ph.D. degree from the Buenos Aires University, Argentina, in 1994 and 1998, respectively. From 1999 to 2001, she became a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at ISAC, Bologna, Italy. From 2001 to 2007, she became a Young Scientist of the INGV, Bologna, Italy. Presently, she serves as a Senior Research at CIMA, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and as a Professor (PIDRI) at DCAO, Department of Atmospheric Sciences, Buenos Aires University, Argentina. She is an Executive Editor of Meteorologica, the journal of the Argentinean Center of Meteorologists. She is mainly interested in climate variability and climate change, regional to large spatial scales, extreme climatic events, and southern extratropical climate variability. More is available at
