Gabriel Tender studied at “Fratii Buzesti” Mathematics and Physics High School, Craiova, Romania (September 1983– August 1987). He received an MD degree Craiova Medical School, Craiova, Romania (September 1988– September 1994). He had a neurosurgical residency at the Department of Neurosurgery, Institute of Cerebrovascular Diseases, Bucharest, Romania (February 1995– July 1998). He had a surgical internship at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Chattanooga, Tenn (August 1998–June 1999) and a surgical internship at Louisiana State University, New Orleans, La (July 1999–June 2000). He had neurosurgical residency at the Department of Neurosurgery, Louisiana State University, New Orleans, La (July 2000–June 2005). He has been a Fellow on research in pain inhibition, National Institute of Health, Bethesda, Md (August 2003–March 2004). He received a Diploma from the American Board of Neurological Surgery, May 2009. He has been serving as an Associate Professor of neurosurgery at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, School of Medicine, New Orleans, La, since June 2011; an Adjunct Professor at School of Nursing, Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, New Orleans, La, since May 2010; a Fellow at the American Association of Neurological Surgeons since May 2009; a Fellow at the International College of Surgeons since April 2012.
