Joe Imae

Joe Imae received the B.S. degree in precision mechanical Engineering from Utsunomiya University, Utsunomiya, Japan in 1973, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in the same field as well from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan in 1975 and 1981, respectively. Currently, he is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Osaka Prefecture University, Osaka, Japan, where he has been working there since 2001. His research interests include nonlinear control design, optimal control theory, dynamic optimization, and evolutionary computation. He spent a sabbatical year as a Visiting Fellow at the Australian National University, Canberra, ACT, Australia, from 1989 to 1990. He received several awards from AACC and ISCIE. He is a Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and others.
